“Have a sip/Morning Coffee with the school board”- Bonding, Sharing and Enjoying.

After “Have a sip/Morning Coffee with the Primary School Board” talking about “How to develop self-awareness and initiative for Primary students?”, a post was shared by a parent: “Choose a way for your child to “look” so your child can “understand”, which will make your child “active”. Today we took little Sam to Edison schools. The way we are teaching her is to “more go, more see”, she thereby is able to feel her own desire and create self-discipline, and ultimately develop ownership and proactiveness for her own dream. “I really like this place” said Sam, “We like it too” we replied. “So our family has the same goal.”

Neither a dogmatic nor an one-way conversation, “Morning Coffee” is a sharing session where parents express their ideas how to raise a better child. At the same time, parents can also understand and trust the school’s pedagogical methodologies. On the other hand, teachers have stronger belief in the parents, their trustworthy accompanions. They are “parents of the new era” who understand their children and the world times, who always find ways to be friends with their children, create and give their children autonomy in life.

The topic “The role of optimal path in the results of High School students” discussed in High School Morning Coffee sesson is very crucial in choosing a learning and career path. Parents paid special attention to college admission methods, and the impacts of information technology on education and career choices. In particular, parents better understood the young generation’s perspective on learning and practice, their children’s desires and joy when they could deploy their learnt knowledge and skills in reality rather than get the right answers printed in their books, as shared by current high school students at Edison Schools.
